About Me

Hey, y’all. I am Jenna, and I am always Fixin' to Run.  I run because everything loves my hips, stomach, and chest. This blog is where a displaced Californian runs way out of her Southern comfort zone.  I am new to running, and always looking for a new running partner, better shoes, and a comfortable sports bra.
A little more about me …
If I wrote about whatever came to mind, this blog would start to sound like the teacher from "The Peanuts." I will attempt to limit this to just interesting topics, life events, and running. I am a former teacher now serving time in the Army on my way to my second career.  I am a native Californian, displaced to Murfreesboro, by way of Clarksville. After 5 years in Tennessee, I decided to make it my home.
I am quiet until I know you, then I will overshare. My husband, Matt, is the more outgoing of the two of us..... "just the two of us, you and I...." oops, sorry slipped into an Austin Powers moment... gotta love that Mini Me. I am always training for something, so go ahead and ask what it is I am training for, and the answer will change depending on the month, week, or day.
I cross train, meaning that when I need to mix it up, I hit up triathlons. Hopefully, I will be able to get at least one in this season, but we will see... I also ride my bicycle for insane distances, because I like to see exactly how long by butt will take to become numb from the pain, the exquisite torture, that is the bicycle seat. This year, I will be riding a few 60 mile distances, so watch out for that.
I have no running buddies, as I have no dogs, and I moved away from Wendy and Eric Ewing... I miss the Charlie dog, and I do not think that Swarley and Sapper are even remotely interested in wearing a harness and training for a marathon, cats are funny that way.

Soon to be seen at a greenway near you, Baby Burke and I strolling along.
